2 x 660 MW with Super Critical Boilers
Cooling towers are used in power plants to cool the hot water used in the condenser. The hot water is pumped from the condenser to the cooling tower, where it is sprayed over a large surface area and exposed to air. This causes the water to evaporate, releasing heat into the atmosphere and cooling the remaining water. The cooled water is then returned to the condenser, where it is used to cool the steam produced by the power plant.
